Advanced Camera Controls & Exposure
Advanced manual exposure and exposure consistency; RAW workflow and dynamic range; histogram and exposure tools; autofocus modes and focus control; depth of field and creative shutter techniques; lens selection and perspective control; practical assignment - controlled multi-exposure shoot.
Advanced Composition & Creative Direction
Advanced visual hierarchy and balance; layering and depth; colour, shape, texture and repetition; intentional perspective and distortion; creating a visual concept before shooting; storyboarding and shot planning; practical assignment - conceptual photo series.
Advanced Natural Light
Reading and shaping available light; window light portraiture; reflectors, flags and negative fill; backlight and rim light techniques; golden hour and low-light techniques; mixed-light environments; practical assignment - portrait series using only natural light.
Artificial Lighting & Modifiers
Introduction to studio lighting; continuous light vs. flash/strobe; key, fill, rim and background lights; softbox, umbrella, reflector, grid, snoot and other modifiers; lighting ratios and exposure control; one-light, two-light and multi-light setups; practical assignment - recreate three professional lighting setups.
Flash Photography
On-camera flash fundamentals; off-camera flash; flash power, distance and modifiers; high-speed sync and flash techniques; balancing ambient light with flash; creative flash for events and portraits; practical assignment - five-image flash series.
Advanced Portrait, Fashion & Editorial Photography
Professional portrait lighting; posing and directing subjects; expression, body language and communication; fashion/editorial concepts and mood boards; location scouting and set design; working with stylists, makeup artists and models; cohesive editorial story; practical assignment - complete an editorial-style shoot.
Product & Commercial Photography
Commercial photography requirements; product lighting and reflections; clean e-commerce vs. lifestyle product images; backgrounds, surfaces and styling; high-detail/ high-resolution product capture; shot lists and client briefs; consistency across a product range; practical assignment - commercial product campaign.
Advanced Post-Production
Professional RAW processing; advanced colour correction and color grading; masking and selective adjustments; professional retouching workflow; frequency separation and skin cleanup where appropriate; product cleanup and background refinement; maintaining realistic texture and detail; practical assignment - before/after professional retouching set.
Professional Portfolio & Capstone Project
